Demonstration Report - HY24 Hydraulic Submersible Pump
Jan 31, 2012
Challenge: Identify if the Dragflow HY24 Hydraulic Submersible Pump and pumping system could remove the slime build-up in the two consecutive underground dams, Dirty Dam and Clean Dam, quickly and more efficiently than the conventional piston pump slime removal system currently being used.
Purpose: The slime removal process results in a critical increase in the water holding capacity at the two dams which is relied upon to reduce the amount of sediment reaching the permanently installed high head multistage pumps.
Demonstration Location: Gold mine near Timmins, Ontario.

Port Hope Declared A Water Emergency
Nov 29, 2011
A 6-year old Port Hope Water Treatment Plant experienced a simultaneous failure to 2 out of 5 high lift pumps due to impeller wear which resulted in the plant operating at only 47 per cent capacity. The pumps failure created a serious concern in the surrounding residential and industrial areas and led the Municipality to declare a water emergency and urged residents and businesses in the ward to limit their water usage until the situation was resolved. Specifically, businesses needed to abide by the Municipality's request to keep their water consumption to below 100 cubic metres per day.

Reverse Circulation Dual Rotary DR24 Drillrig
Sep 30, 2011
Aquatech is proud to introduce our new DR24; the Dual Rotary drilling method has been proven repeatedly where unconsolidated formations (sand, gravel, cobbles, and boulders) make it difficult to drill a cased hole using conventional drilling techniques. The versatility of this unique drilling rig, in both straight and angled applications, makes it one of the most efficient and cost effective methods for drilling in difficult formations.

Bypass Pumping System
Aug 01, 2011
Many bypasses are similar in appearance and name, but it’s their subtle differences that require close attention to fully understand component performance parameters. To determine the right pump, we first need to understand many different aspects of the physical conditions of the application – Flow, Lift/Pump Strength, and Distance.
FLOW – is the quantity of liquid being discharged over time calculated in gallons per minute or litres per second. Flow determines the line size of the piping or hose.
LIFT – the total lift combines the suction and discharge lift. Lift determines the pump strength.
DISTANCE – the length of the hose/pipe to discharge. Distance determines if the line size should be up-sized to reduce friction loss.
