The Junior Engineer / Project Coordinator is a member of the AQUATECH Dewatering Team utilizing technical, communication and organizational skills to help promote the overall growth and profitability of AQUATECH’s range of services and in particular groundwater control and treatment services. The Junior Engineer / Project Coordinator will work closely with senior staff and as part of a team will be involved in the design, development and implementation of groundwater control and treatment systems that includes analyzing project reports, plans and specifications, drafting and promoting detailed project proposals and project coordination and tracking.

Job Responsibilities

• Locate and source available projects for tender and attend tender site meetings.
• Review project drawings and specifications, project specific geotechnical reports, hydrogeological reports and environmental reports.
• Develop detailed groundwater control solutions for all sectors of construction including the Environmental, Heavy Civil, I.C.I. (Institutional, Commercial, Industrial), Tunnel, Mining, and Municipal / Private Infrastructure sectors.
• Develop and design multistage groundwater treatment and filtration systems for site specific applications related to groundwater and surface water control.
• Provide internal Senior Estimators and Project Managers with groundwater extraction and treatment system designs.
• Assist in the estimating/costing of groundwater control and treatment solutions.
• Assist in field coordination and supervision of the installation, operation, and decommissioning of the projects.
• Will be working within a team of Engineers, Hydrogeologists, Project Managers, and outside consultants as well as interfacing with Governing Regulatory bodies including Municipalities, Conservation Authorities and the Ministry of the Environment to help aid the procurement of all necessary dewatering related permits.
• Project document management, production tracking, and summary of project billables.

Qualifications and Required Experience

• A recent Bachelors Degree in civil / geological / environmental engineering from an accredited university
• Very strong oral and written communication skills required
• Strong work ethic, organizational and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and negotiating skills
• Strong computer skills required and experience in computer drafting programs such as AutoCAD an asset
• Experience related to pumping and dewatering systems an asset
• General knowledge of the construction industry an asset
• Uninhibited ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and grasp
• Periodic exposure to outdoor weather, shop and job site conditions
• Candidate must have their own vehicle and a valid drivers license
